Summer may be over soon, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to come to an end! There are still plenty of exciting (and safe) things to do right here in Syracuse—and we’re sharing a few of our favorite activities that we know you’ll love.

What’s Going on in Syracuse?

When you live in Syracuse, there’s never a shortage of top notch destinations, events, and activities for you to explore. And while this fall may be a bit different than usual, it’s still possible to get out and experience everything the Central New York region has to offer.

Here are a few activities that are worth checking out as we transition from summer to autumn.

Explore Onondaga Lake Park

Hammock by the lake

Known as the “Central Park of Central New York”, Onondaga Lake Park features everything from a 7.5-mile linear greenway to two iconic museums. However, the crown jewel of this park has to be Onondaga Lake—and you can even launch your boat from the public marina.

Other highlights of the park include an archery range, the Skä•noñh Great Law of Peace Center, as well as various gardens and sports fields. Locals often recommend packing a picnic lunch and savoring the stunning waterfront views!

Visit Burell’s Navarino Orchard

It’s almost fall here in Central New York, which means pumpkin and apple picking season is just around the corner. There’s no better place to get into the autumnal spirit than Burrell’s Navarino Orchard, one of Syracuse’s top spots for fall fun.

Apple and tomato season begins in August and runs concurrently with pumpkin season, which lasts through October. And if you don’t have time to pick your own produce, just stop by Burrell’s farm stand to grab what you need.

Tour Lakeland Winery
