There’s No Place Like Home!

Scenes-from-Skaneateles-NY (20)As a busy real estate team, we see a lot of people come and a lot of people go. Whether an incoming professor starting a job at SU, or life long residents looking to relocate to warmer climates, we’ve helped hundreds of buyers find a new or first home and hundreds of sellers transition to the next phase of their lives.

But whether you are just settling in to the greater Syracuse area, or have grown up here, moved away AND come back, there is always something new to discover about our city and surrounding communities.  And if your kids are already saying “there’s nothing to do” this summer, then you’re not trying hard enough.

One of our favorite sites to share with folks new to town is  This site brought to you by the Syracuse Visitor and Convention Bureau, is chalk full of event information, community services, helpful links, history and so much more.  Check out the calendar for weekend events, or learn more about breweries in Central New York.  Or if you want to venture out a little further, find links for I Love NY, or the Finger Lakes.

Two other must connect to sites are City of Syracuse Parks and Central New York State Parks. From picnicking and swimming, camping and horseback riding, to hiking  and golf, our local and state parks provide green space, fresh air and wonderful opportunities to reconnect with nature, our families and ourselves.  We are so fortunate to have these beautiful natural resources so close to home – go find yourself a waterfall why don’t you!Chittenango Falls May 2012 (2)

As Dorothy says in the Wizard of Oz (can you say Oz- Fest?), “there’s no place like home.”  That girl knew what she was talking about – why not discover OR re-discover your home – Central New York.

Send us your favorite Central New York summer time pictures to share- we’re happy to post here and spread the word!
