60 Artists – 60 Minutes!

2014-06-20_11.33.13If you haven’t had the chance to meet or work with our Team member Cookie Falcone, you will have that opportunity tonight, Friday, June  20th, at the Everson Museum’s Sixty Artists in Sixty Minutes event, from 5:30 – 7 PM.  Cookie has an artistic sense that defines her paintings and a creative mind when it comes to negotiating the sale of a home.  Either way, catch her infectious spirit as she makes art for a good cause.

This Everson’s Members’ Council event is in its 5th year and promises great music by ValDaniel Martins and Kyle Dolbear, complimentary hors d’oeuvres by Phoebe’s, and the amazing, in-the- moment-art of some of Syracuse’s best.  Interact with the artist, vote for your favorite and participate in the benefit drawing for the 60 minute challenge completed works.

What a fun way to see art, support art and spend on art!  Enjoy!

Participating artists include: Michael Berman, Susan Murphy, Michael Weismore, Howard McLaughlin, Dennis Andrukat, Stephen Carpenter, Judith Brown-Roenbeck, Eileen Arnold, Judith Hand, Ken Arnold, Linda Abbey, Lorraine Karpowich, Matt Capucilli, Erin Lachut, Tom Huff, Awenheeyoh Powless, Mary Fragapane, Marc Pittarelli, Amy Baker, James H. 1. What an exciting evening! Every year that we have had this event the weather has been perfect! it is an inspiration to see the other local artists working on their projects, describing their techniques, and listening to the guests comment on our work! It is like a reunion each year!
My fellow docents and staff from the Everson couldn’t have been more helpful, starting with the initial planning; and finally with meeting the artists at the entrance- with equipment to move our supplies to one of the three tents in order to set up our work stations.
The music was outstanding; relaxing blues, and mood music, with the guests milling around the reflecting pool taking it all in. I am always happy to be part of this fundraiser!
An ideal evening, watch for it next year, and make it a point to attend.
