Central New York Leaf Peepers Wanted!

kelly leaves 001One of the most beautiful seasons in Central New York is of course autumn.  The dense woods of our numerous State Parks, the scenic vistas of our glacier formed valleys, the crystalline waters of the Finger Lakes, and the stunning Adirondack Mountains, all provide a wonderful backdrop to Mother Nature’s biggest show- fall foliage.

With seasonal temperatures  around  55 degrees daytime and 45 evening, bright blue skies and cumulus clouds greet us more days than not during  September and October.  Peaking the first week in October in the southern portions of the Adirondacks, the greater Syracuse area can expect the greatest amount of color in the next two weeks.

Fall football games, s’mores over last chance campfires, apple picking and hay mazes bring us outside where we can’t miss the blaze of maple, ash and oak.  Inhaling the crisp, clean air of our fair counties, Central New Yorkers know just how good they’ve got it — at least until it snows on Halloween!

Send us your finest fall foliage photos – and let us know how you celebrate the Autumn equinox.
