Labor Day Weekend in CNY

Since 1884, the first Monday in September has been recognized as Labor Day.  It is a day to honor the contributions of American workers to our country.  What is it that makes us such successful workers?  Our ability to recharge on the weekends!  For most of us, Labor Day means we get a three day weekend.  If your plans are still up in the air, here is a sampling of what beautiful Central New York has to offer.

It looks like the weather this weekend is going to be beautiful and warm (highs in the 80s).  There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy:

The Great NY State Fair
Free Music & Farmers Market Friday at Montezuma Winery in Seneca Falls (Friday)
Skaneateles Race Weekend
Free Hanover Square Outdoor Summer Concert: Dan Elliott & Wayne Muller (Friday)
Beaver Lake Guided Nature Walks
CNY Beaches (Fair Haven, Green Lakes, Jamesville Beach)
Beautiful New York State Parks
Apple Picking
Wine Trails
Football – SU vs Northwestern at the Carrier Dome (Saturday)
Baseball – The last Syracuse Chiefs home game of the season (Sunday)

If it happens to rain or you’d rather do something indoors, try:

The Everson Museum of Art
Cabaret: The Musical at Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Auburn
Chris Coccia & Derrick Tennant at Wise Guys Comedy Club
The Mystery of Irma Vep at the Courtland Repertory Theatre

Do you know of anything going on this Labor Day weekend?  Tell us about it!
